The Story Behind Gruesome Beauty
Growing up my eczema was hard to control. I tried every ointment and lotion and nothing seemed to help. After several visits to the doctor over the years, I decided to research things on my own. Finding products that do not contain harsh chemicals and having a tree nut allergy is difficult. I want to help others find a safe place to buy their products.
Several companies use almond and jojoba oil in their products. They use too many unnecessary chemicals and add an abundance of fragrance which can damage the skin over a period of time.
Eczema, psoriasis, and other skin conditions need oils that our bodies do not produce naturally. When you use handmade soap and bath products, you are getting the benefit of cleansing your skin and also receiving the oil your body needs. Our soap will leave your skin feeling more hydrated than store-bought items. I feel that is very important to those with dry skin.
The Reason For "Gruesome"
Gruesome Beauty was created to help others be aware of skincare's "gruesome" side. Many companies use false claims to sell products to those in need. I want to bring attention to how companies use harsh chemicals yet claim to have great products. Some companies will claim to have moisturizing products but use ingredients that can cause more dryness over time. Others will add an abundance of fragrance to products that can be harsh on sensitive skin.
I had a passion for special effects makeup for 5 years and due to the pandemic it halted my progress. Instead of going to school in Florida, I became more interested in skin care and learning about ingredients. I want to share my knowledge and help those who need it.
